How Life Like works

Life Like takes about two minutes from start to finish. Here's what happens.

1. You're born

Every playthrough starts by dropping you into a life at random. Your era, your family's circumstances, where in the world you land — none of it is up to you, exactly like real birth. One life you're a merchant's child in an ancient city; the next you're born into a future that hasn't happened yet. This starting hand shapes everything that follows, but it doesn't decide the ending.

2. You make a handful of choices

As your life unfolds, you'll face a short series of decisions. They're deliberately simple — a fork in the road, not a spreadsheet. Each choice nudges your life down one path or another, and because your starting circumstances differ every time, the same choice can lead somewhere completely different from one life to the next.

3. You find out what your life was like

After your last choice, Life Like reveals your life — the arc you lived, how it turned out, and what it all added up to. This is the payoff: the moment where a few quick decisions resolve into a single story. Some lives are triumphs, some are quiet, some are cautionary tales.

4. You play again

One life is never enough. Because the era, the circumstances, and the choices recombine every time, replays stay fresh — you can play a dozen lives in the time it takes to finish a coffee. Share the ones that surprise you, and start another.

That's it. No accounts, no downloads, no tutorials. Just short lives, one after another. Read more about Life Like or check the FAQ.
